Dr Martin Nimmo

Dr. Martin Nimmo qualified from the University of Dundee. As an undergraduate he was a finalist for the BDA/Dentsply Student Clinician Research Awards, and received the Tayside Oncology Trust Award following his time spent in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, New York.

Dr. Nimmo subsequently worked in a variety of dental settings within both primary and secondary care. Following foundation training posts in the Restorative, Paediatric, and Oral Surgery departments at the Edinburgh Dental Institute, Martin spent over a year working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also treated patients with dental anxiety and special needs, allowing him to develop methods to put patients at ease when embarking upon treatment. This broad spectrum of postgraduate experience and training has enabled Dr. Nimmo to offer a wide variety of general and aesthetic dental procedures, as well as develop a special interest in oral surgery. He also provides a range of non-surgical facial aesthetic procedures.

Dr Nimmo is committed to providing the highest standards of patient care, and since 2008 he has undertaken over 400 verifiable hours of continuing professional development in order to ensure the latest techniques and procedures are available to his patients. He passed his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. Dr. Nimmo is an active member of the British Dental Association, sitting on several committees which represent the dental profession at a national level. He has also held membership of the Royal Odonto-Chirurgical Society of Scotland since 2010.
