Invisalign is a relatively new concept and is based around a series of removable clear aligners. On average around 20 to 30 sets of aligners, per arch, are used to straighten most dental issues; however this may be longer if the misalignment is very severe.

How do they work?

The aligners will need to be worn at all times, except whilst eating and drinking. However they can be removed and left out if you are attending a special event or function. Before any treatment begins your dental professional will assess your situation and general dental health. If you are suitable for this type of treatment then impressions and photos will be taken of your teeth. This is to ensure that each set of aligners fits correctly and adjusts the tenths placement a little at a time.

During the course of the treatment, usually around 12 to 18 months, you will need to have a series of check-ups. This is so that your dental professional can check your progress and provide you with the next set of aligners.

How are STb Social 6 braces fitted?

There are four stages to having your STb Social 6 brace fitted, which include, the initial consultation to discuss whether the brace is right for you, after which a treatment plan will be made. Impressions of your teeth using silicone will be taken during the second stage and the third stage will see your STb brace designed specifically for you, before being crafted using state of the art technology in stage four.

Once they are ready the braces will be fitted by the London dentist to the back of your teeth for the treatment to begin. The brace will then gently move your teeth into the desired position.

What are the advantages of STb Social 6 braces?

There are a number of advantages that come with STb Social 6 braces such as:

Stages of Inman Aligner Treatment

There are three different stages of treatment with the Inman Aligner, these are:

Stage one: You will have your initial consultation to discuss whether the Inman Aligner is the best treatment option for you. You will have photographs of your smile taken and assessed to work out your best options.

Stage two: The goals of your treatment will be discussed and assessed before you have your teeth, bite and gums analysed by a Devonshire Square Dental professional.

Stage three: You will have moulds taken of your teeth to help determine how your teeth will move over the course of the treatment. A treatment plan will then be mapped out for you and your customised Inman Aligner will be created. Once this is done your Inman Aligner will need to be worn for 16-20 hours per day to ensure optimum tooth movement.

What are the advantages of the Inman Aligner?

There are a number of different advantages that come with the Inman Aligner, which include:

• Only one aligner is used, make treatment easier and cheaper.
• They can be removed easily so you can eat and brush your teeth as usual.
• The Inman Aligner achieves some of the fastest results of any brace system and patients can have the look they want in 8-16 weeks.

The thinnest, flattest wires are used, meaning the brace will also feel much less uncomfortable than traditional braces, although as with any brace, there will be some very mild discomfort as your mouth adjusts to the new device.

The STB Social 6 braces also allow for much shorter treatment time – treatment can be complete in as little as six weeks, although a period of sixteen weeks is more usual. This is still relatively fast for braces treatment. Oral hygiene is also much easier than is the case with traditional metal braces.

What is the procedure for treatment with STB Social 6 braces?

After a consultation to discuss your aims and your suitability for STB Social 6 braces, a mould is taken of your teeth. This is sent off to the laboratory to design and create individual braces suited to your mouth. The brackets of the braces will then be fitted, using one or two wires, which unravel to allow for a good fit in the mouth.

The brackets are ‘self-litigating’, and thus can move as your teeth change position, so you will not require as many trips to the dentist as you perhaps would with other brace systems. However, in order to ensure that treatment is going well, and that essential oral hygiene is being maintained perfectly, a few dental trips are recommended.

How do they work?

The Invisalign aligner is a custom-built plastic mould, which fits over your teeth. After a consultation, photos and a mould are taken of your teeth the Invisalign lab will use these to construct a 3D image of the movement your teeth will achieve over the course of treatment. A series of aligners is then made, and you will switch between different aligners as your teeth gradually move position. The aligners are removable, allowing for ease of cleaning teeth and eating, but you should wear them as much as possible (around 22 hours per day) to allow for faster results. You will visit your London dentist every couple of weeks to check up on the treatment, and receive your new aligners.

What are the advantages of Invisalign?

The most obvious advantage, and function, of the aligners is that they will move your teeth gradually so that you have a smile that you are proud to show off. This is achieved without any obvious wires or metal brackets. The aligners are made from practically transparent material and cannot be seen except very close up.
